SharpEye Surfboards is built around a simple idea: remove compromise from performance.
Founded by Brazilian-born shaper Marcio Zouvi, SharpEye has grown from a small shaping operation into one of the most recognisable performance brands in modern surfing, with boards ridden by some of the world’s best competitive surfers. Zouvi was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro and began shaping in the late 1980s, influenced by Californian designers including Rusty Preisendorfer, Linden and Al Merrick. He founded SharpEye in 1992. The brand’s reputation accelerated as its boards found their way under elite surfers, particularly Filipe Toledo. SharpEye remains unapologetically performance-focused, with a range designed around speed, control and responsiveness.

Marcio Zouvi
Marcio Zouvi began shaping in the late 1980s and built SharpEye from his own understanding of progressive surfing. His early Californian influences helped establish a performance foundation, while decades of testing with elite surfers have continued to refine his approach.

Marcio Zouvi’s designs are developed around speed, control and the ability to generate and maintain momentum through high-performance turns. Feedback from elite surfers is used to tune details, while production models translate those lessons into boards everyday surfers can ride.

A Filipe Toledo Pro Model. The #77 features a full entry and exit rocker, sensitive low rails for maximum control and bite, and a speed-generating deep single concave that runs from the nose through the tail. The deepest point of the concave is positioned between the fins providing an abundance of drive and grip through high-speed manoeuvres. The #77 offers superior performance in various conditions and sizes but is recommended for intermediate to expert surfers only.

Modern 2
A versatile performance shortboard designed to make high-performance surfing accessible across a wider range of conditions.
The Modern 2 can be configured as a performance two plus one or thruster that features a flat entry rocker that seamlessly flows into a flattened exit combined with a forgiving, catch-resistant boxy rail. A Vee bottom contour through to the tail allows the Modern 2 to make tight directional changes with release while maintaining an exceptional amount of speed and drive.
